Dolly Kei/ Tumblr - Japanese Fashion

Dolly Kei is a  Japanese fashion trend inspired by vintage European clothes,  fairy tales and romantic things.  Unlike Lolita Fashion, in this case the main thing is not the "little girl look" but the romantic look. Something like Goth fashion, but a bit less dark...

Flower like dress or skirt - with petals

I really like romantic dresses and skirts. In particular, I'm a big fan of the faerie's look. When I came across this picture and this picture I have decided to to try and find some real flower like dress or skirt. Here's what I have found:

Fifties style strapless A-line dress

The fifties of the twentieth century were the first years after wold war 2. While women fashion during the big war was very modest and practical, at the fifties women wanted to return for feminine romantic dresses, which usually had A-line cut. These dresses were usually knee length ( the mini dress was invented only at the sixties) but they were still quit sexy. I really love this style - especially when it comes with a strapless style.

Gothic Lolita fashion

Gothic Lolita is a beautiful combination between two unique fashion style - Gothic fashion and Lolita fashion.  It combines the dramatic and romantic Victorian elements with with juvenile dresses and the result is amazing, It's not so scary and dramatic like the Gothic style, and it's not too childish as the Lolita style.

Here's some examples:

Sexy pirate costume

I really love pirate costumes. Pirate fashion combines many grate romantic elements: cup boots, ruffles shirts with puffy sleeves, lace up and more. I just wish that more of these element will enter the common fashion world.

Gypsy fashion

Gypsies (AKA Romani) are an ethnic group living mostly in Europe. Surprisingly, their origins are in the Indian Subcontinent. The English term originates from the Greek word for "Egyptian", in the belief that the Gypsies , originated in Egypt.

The Gypsy cloture include various colorful and cheerful elements in their music, dancing and of course - their clothing: The Gypsy fashion is very colorful and feminine, and has many old-fashion romantic  elements.

Latex opera gloves

Opera gloves are full length gloves that reach over the elbow - to the biceps. They are considered very old fashion and very romantic. For more information about the history of these gloves press here.

The combination of this old fashion style with the new material of latex brings a very interesting and unique piece of clothing - latex opera gloves.

Boots cuffs

There are thee major affects of boots with cuffs: first they seems more romantic and associated with vintage elements like pirates or vikings. Second - they draw more attenuation from the ankles  to the knees. And third - they make an illusion of thinner leg.

The Japanese Lolita fetish - Lolipop

Lolita is a famous book of the Russian writer Vladimir Nabokov. The book tells the love story  between  Humbert Humber , a thirty year old man, and Lolita - a 12 years old girl. The combination of the great success of the book and the fact that he delt in an uncomfortable un-politically correct issue - Pedophilia, Led for that the name "Lolita" became a phrase that describes a little girl who behaved in sexual way.

In recent years, the term Lolita began also to address a reverse phenomenon - older women who acts and dress like little girls.

Like the Zentai fetish and the Kigurimi fetish, the Lolita fetish comes from Japan.

The Lolita fashion involves mainly ultra feminine dress which has many childish elements.

Shrug

Shrug is a garment that designed to warm the hands. It made out of two attached sleeves - so there are only sleeves with no shirt.

The shrug is a very romantic and feminine clothing, and it's theperfect combination of something very practical and very beautiful.

Gauntlet gloves

Gauntlet gloves are sort of finger-less gloves that Is placed on the middle finger of the hand. This style of gloves was very poplar at the middle ages and many knights used to wear such gloves to protect their hands.
Like many other attires, today gauntlet gloves are considered to be a feminine garment. I guess that the reason for that is that today these gloves aren't that practical and in general men tend to wear only practical clothing while women try stylish and non-practical clothing.
The gauntlet gloves gives a very romantic look, and as I have mentioned before - this can be very sexy.

Feather dress

Feather dress is a very sweet and adorable garment. What is the secret of the combination of feather in a
dress that makes it so romantic? Maybe it reminds us a look of a fairy, maybe it brigs out ethical connotations like
an Indian look, or maybe it's just the delicate look of the feather which is very soft and flexible - qualities that
characterize the female gender.

Here some examples:

And last but not least - the source of inspiration: Ginger Rogers dancing with Fred Astaire at the movie "Top Hat" while wearing a fluffy feather dress.

Sexy long Gothic dress

As I mentioned previously, unlike what most people think the goth look isn't only focusing in the rock, heavy metal and punk scene, but it's actually a romantic look with elements taken from the middle ages. What's particularly interesting about the Gothic dresses is that they can be very sexy even though they are quite modest in many ways. Here some examples of sexy long Gothic dresses:
