At the year 1926 there was a revolution in the fashion word - the fashion designer Coco Chanel introduced a knee length A-line black dress. It's hard to believe, but at the that time this dress was considered to be very daring and groundbreaking. Compared to the restrictive dresses that had been used at that time, Coco Chanel's dress was very loose and free. Once the dress was introduced it became a worldwide hit that was repeatedly adopted by various fashion icons.
At the thirties Wallis Simpson, duchess of Windsor house, declared that there is no other thing wear besides black dress ". At the forties black dress has become one of the hallmarks of this singer Edith Piaf. In 1961 actress Audrey Hepburn appeared in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" while wearing a black dress that made her a fashion icon too.
The black dress is still with us today and it seems that it isn't going to disappear the fashionable view. What's the magic of the little black dress?
1. Black is slimming color. The simplest explanation is probably the most accurate.
2. Black blends with any other color. A black dress can fit in great with shoes, boots, tights, coat, scarf, gloves and any additional item of any color.
3. The black color in the center of the body helps to emphasize the hands, feet and especially the face.
