Petticoat

One of the interesting garments is petticoat. This is a sort of a skirt designed to be worn under the skirt or the dress, causing inflating of the butt and thigh area.

The early Victorian version of the petticoat was very heavy and clumsy, and together with the corset it was one of the characteristics of the oppression of women in the western world, where women wore restrictive and uncomfortable cloths that even caused fainting.

Nowadays there are several modern versions of petticoat. With technological innovations in the textile world, the petticoat is no longer heavy and clumsy, and it works well with mini skirt, mini dress or long dramatic skirt.

As I explained in former post, the best cut for a skirt is A-line and petticoat gives you the perfect A-line

What so good about these petticoat?

1. The expansion of ass makes the illusion of narrower waist and more "hourglass look".

2. When it comes in a miniskirt - the gap between the broad miniskirt and the legs causes the illusion of longer and thinner leg.

3. The silhouette of a woman who wears a petticout is a classic feminine silhouette.

4. The fabric of the petticoat is very soft and reminiscent of a flower - which raises the feminine connotation.
